Death of the Prophet Mouhamad (pbuh)

It is well known that all creatures, there is no being who is loved more than him by God. Yet God did not delay the end of his life. Prominent scholars have mentioned in their "Sira" (bibliography of the Prophet (pbuh)). Among them, Ibn Ishaq, Abdullahi Ibn Abbass, Shawkani Imam Ibn Kathir, Tabari and many others. In what follows, we will attempt, in summary, describing the last moments of the life of the Prophet (pbuh), so that all contemporary Muslim knows in what circumstances, the seal of the prophets, the Prophete
Mouhamad (pbuh) has left this world.

Already during the farewell pilgrimage in the month of Dhul Hijjah the tenth year of the Hegira, the Prophet (pbuh) was ill in Mecca and complained about his health. He continued to complain when he returned to Medina. We thought it was the fatigue(tiredness) of travel, but he knew what his condition.
Two or three days later, his condition had improved slightly; the Prophet (pbuh) called Abu Mouhaiba, put his hand on the neck of the freed and went slowly out of the city, Baqi, the Muslim graveyard. There, placed near the graves, he said: "Hi! O inhabitants of the graves, which are immune to punishment that reaches men. «He then returned into the room of Aisha, who was lying and complained of a headache. The Prophet (pbuh) said: "O Aisha, it would be for me to complain, not you," Aisha said, "O Messenger of God, I'm sicker than you." The Prophet (pbuh) said: «If you love someone, we regret to survive. Then what harm would there, O Aisha, if you die before me, if I ensevelissais if I prayed upon you and deposited in the grave? ". Aisha replied: "Yes, you want, returning to my funeral, to make a new marriage!
". The Prophet (pbuh) smiled, he lay down on the bed, the fever took him again, and never left.
When it was passed five days of the month of Rabi Awwal He, the Prophet (pbuh) felt he was dying. He said to Aisha: "My end is near, get me a little cold water and pour it on me, maybe I'm a little relieved to get out, saying goodbye to people and make my latest recommendations. " Aicha he poured water on his face. The rumor spread in Madinah that the Prophet (pbuh) was better with it and going out. A large crowd met at the mosque. The Prophet (pbuh), forehead wrapped in a bandage, entered the mosque cannot mount the pulpit, or stand, he sat on the ground and sent a sermon to the people. After paying a tribute of praise to God and the salvation given to earlier prophets, he prayed for the Muslims killed at Badr, Uhud in to Khaybar and Honaïn, and for all those who sacrificed their lives for him, and recommended that men the practice of religion, then he added: "God has a servant to whom he said: Do you prefer this world or the next? The servant chose the other world, and God approved his choice and promised to call in his presence. «Nobody understood that the Prophet (pbuh) spoke of himself unless Abubakr, who cried and wept: Apostle of God, our bodies and our souls be your ransom! The Prophet (pbuh), knowing qu'Aboubakr had understood his words, said: "O Abubakr, do not cry, because killing s been with me in this world, and thou shalt be with me in the other. Then he added: "If I had to take out a friend of God, would have been Aboubakr, because I have not been more faithful companion than him, and nobody has been useful in his fortune ". Speaking of new Muslims, he said: "Death is a necessity and no man can escape. But there is, after death, one day justice and reparation, where the creatures will claim against each other and the great of the earth will claim against small and large against small, there will be no more favor for me than for anyone. While I am still with you, contact me your claims. If I hit any of you, it hits me. If I have offended anyone, that I do the same. If I took the good of someone, that I take it back. Cleanse me from all unrighteousness, so that I can stand before God without harm to anyone. All present wept and cried: Apostle of God, all the wrongs that you had against us are erased. It is we who are your debtors.

Then a man named Okkascha, stood up and said: That night, at such place, in such an expedition, I made my camel walk next to yours. You wanted to give a boost to your camel, but the shot hit me and caused me great pain. Here you have the wrong with me.
The Prophet (pbuh) said: This is my body, if you want to hit me, hit.
- I want answered Okkascha - The Prophet (pbuh) had a whip, a stick covered with leather, which he still held in his hand when he rode a camel. He said to Bilal: The whip is in the house of my daughter Fatima will get it. But do not tell Fatima what use I want to do, not to torment his heart. All assistants Okkascha turned to him and said: Do you not ashamed and do not you fear God to strike the prophet? Why not make him abandon this repair? The Prophet (pbuh) replied: Do not tell him, he claims that is his right. Ousmane said, Sell me, O Okkascha, your right to a hundred camels. Abderahmane Ibn Auf, made the same offer and each of the Prophet's companions spoke to him, but in vain. When he had brought the whip, Ali ibn Abi Talib stood up and said: O Okkascha the Prophet (pbuh) is ill and weak, he can not withstand a blow. Instead of hitting once, give me a hundred lashes as strong as you want. All others are also offered, each said: "Strike on me." But do not let Okkascha bend and took the whip hand of Bilal. The prophet told him approach you. Okkascha approached. The Prophet (pbuh) said: Now strike, but do not hit too hard, because I am weak and not be able to withstand a vigorous blow. Whole assembly was shaking and crying. Okkascha said: Apostle of God when, in the night, you hit me, I was naked, while you, today you're wearing a dress and a coat. How could it be repaired? The Prophet (pbuh) took off his coat and his dress. Okkascha then threw the whip, rushed to the Prophet (pbuh) and pressed his chest against visa Mouhamad sobbing. Tears flowed from the eyes of the Prophet (pbuh) all present wept and sobbed so that the mosque was flooded of tears shed, and the voice of weeping ascended to heaven. Okkascha some moments the visa pressed against the chest of the Prophet (pbuh), who finally said: Why are you doing this? - Apostle of God replied Okkascha, I'm afraid, like all others, it is now the last time we see you alive I wanted the day I bid you farewell, my face closer to your body, hoping thereby that God preserves my body from the fire of hell. The Prophet (pbuh) said: It is preserved! It is preserved! It is preserved!

Then got another man, who said: Apostle of God, such a day, you have asked a poor alms, you tell me if I give him some money on me, and you promised to make. I gave your order after three dirhams to the poor. Pray that God put it into my account. The Prophet (pbuh) replied: It is a debt that you have on me this charity, it was me who did it. Then he ordered Fadl Ibn Abbass, to restore the three dirhams, and turning back to the man, he said: Now give them to the poor if thou wilt, and thou shalt have merit.
Another man stood up and said: Apostle of God, as I once stolen, booty from such a war, three dirhams, which I needed. The Prophet (pbuh) said Fadl: Take this man three dirhams and put them into the treasury.
Then he got up and went into her apartment. That was the last time people saw living.
Fever seized him and forcefully took the third day, a more violent. We asked Ali, who was leaving with the Prophet (pbuh), how was the patient. Ali replied that he was better. - Let us see, said several men and a number of Muhajir and Ansar entered the apartment of Aisha. The Prophet (pbuh) looked at them with tears in his eyes and without being able to meet or talk to them. Finally, he asked that helped him to sit on the mattress. The Prophet (pbuh) looked at his companions and wanted to send them a speech, but he could not. He prayed for them and said a few kind words.
You are, 'he said, welcome. May the blessing of God be with you! May God strengthen you, that you prepare a place in heaven, that you in his care, he leads you in the right way, it protects you from all evil, and it saves you elevates you, and it is always ready to give you his mercy! I exhort you to fear God, and I commend you to Him and recommend your interests. I exhort you to fear God, because it is from him that I always bring the promise and threat, to not to show to his servants presumption, not to do evil in his empire, as stated in the Koran: "The house of another life, We shall give to those who do not seek to exalt themselves in the earth above the others" (S28, V83). I urge you again to treat servants well you have under your command. I recommend you keep the religion of God and the Arabian peninsula expel all infidels. I'll leave you two things that prevent me after falling into error, as long as you are pressed: the word of God and my family. I recommend that you honor the Ansar as they are my family, and they are worthy of your respect. Listen to those among them who do good and forgive those who do wrong. I beg God's forgiveness for me and for them.

Having uttered these words, the Prophet (pbuh) could no longer sit up, put his head on the pillow. His companions asked: O Messenger of God, when the end of your life? - The end is near, the return is to God, to the Lotus of the Limit, Paradise final and top Firdaws. - Apostle of God, that you wash after your death? - My relatives, he said. - Who put you in the grave? - My family. - How did we bury him? - In the clothes I wear white cloth or in Egypt or Yemen. He asked again: Who will pray you? He said: May God grant you His forgiveness and a great reward for your faith and for the care you take to his prophet! When you have washed and buried me, I will place you on the edge of my grave, then go out and leave me for an hour, because the first one should pray to me is my friend and beloved Djibril (Gabriel) and then this is Michael, and Israfil, then azrail (angel of death), and a multitude of angels. Then enter my home through successive groups. Pray to me and greet me, but do not embarrass me by praising moved by any noise or cry. Than men to begin with my family pray over me, then wives, then yourself. When all the people have prayed, you put me in the grave and you will return. Greet those of my companions who are absent and those who follow me in my religion until the Day of Resurrection. Tell them that the Day of Resurrection, I will meet you near the bridge Sirat, I not cross before intercede with God for my people.

When the Prophet (pbuh) had finished speaking, his condition became worse. And his companions went out women sat around him. As it happens to someone who loses consciousness, his eyes sank in their sockets, his tongue heavy. Women, according to their ideas in medicine, told them: He is plagued by drying (pleurisy), they brought oil and Asma Bint Omais, poured a little into the nose of the Prophet (pbuh) . When it came to his senses, he asked why he had done this and had. Women, not daring to admit it, said: This is your uncle Abbass who did. The Prophet (pbuh) summoned him and said: Uncle, why did you do that? Abbass said, I did not. Then the women said, is that we have done because we thought you were experiencing dryness and you had lost consciousness. The Prophet (pbuh) replied: May God preserve me, at my death, unconsciousness! Then he ordered that all persons present in the apartment, except Abbass, were subjected to the same operation and that they versat oil in the nose, so that they would not again the idea of do so without his consent. That was executed.

These events took place on Thursday. The next Friday, the state of the Prophet (pbuh) worsened and fever became more intense. He had a leather vase that was filled with water and placed before him. From time to time, to ease his pain and heat, he dipped his hands into the water and then passed on his forehead and on his face and exclaimed: O my God, help me against the anguish of death ! It was in this state until Sunday and disease worsened.

The next Monday, the thirteenth day of the month of Rabi Al Awwal, the eleventh year of the Hegira, in the morning, at the hour of prayer, the Prophet (pbuh), feeling better, got up, opened the door his apartment and looked at the men assembled in the mosque, praying, arranged in order one after the other, and that filled Abubakr Imam function. This show caused him great joy, and exclaimed: Thanks be to God that after me, people will follow my direction and my institutions. Could no longer stand, he withdrew and sat on the cushion. Aicha believed he was healed and asked him if he wanted a wood to clean teeth. I would, replied the Prophet (pbuh). Aisha was in her a toothpick that had not yet begun and chewed. She took the amôlit chewing it and gave it to the Prophet (pbuh), who carried him to his teeth and rubbed vigorously. Aicha said: Do not rub too hard, you abysses teeth. He replied: O Aisha, Djibril I have always recommended to do so, and he recommended me to bind us closely with our neighbors, he also told me that the slave must be freed after the death of his master.

The angel Gabriel came to see him before his death and he said: O Mouhamad! God sent me to you and asks what he knows better than you and he says: How did you find? He replied: I am afflicted and I am experienced. At these moments, the angel of death came and asked permission. Djibril said: O Mouhamad, here is the angel of death who asks you permission. He never requested a human before you and he did not ask to a human after you. He said: Give him permission to enter, and he entered. He stood before him and said, God hath sent me unto you and ordered me to obey you. If you order me to take your soul I will, and if you ordered me to leave I will leave. Djibril said: O Mouhamad! God craves to you. The Prophet (pbuh) said: do what you're ordered, O Angel of Death.
At these words, Djibril said: Peace be on you, O Messenger of God! This is my last time on earth. It was you who was the purpose of my coming into the world below.

The Prophet (pbuh) could no longer sit up, and dropping his head, Aisha sat behind him, drew him to her and took the patient's head on her breast. He remained thus for some time.
He dipped his hand in the water container and wiped his face saying: "La ilaha illallah, death is certainly preceded death", his last words were: "Lord, the Supreme companion." At some time between sunrise and noon, sweat flowed from his forehead he opened his mouth and closed it, and his soul flew away. My age says Aicha, do not allow me to realize that I have been privileged by the Lord. When he passed away, I put his head on the pillow and joined other women to slap me on the face. The Prophet (pbuh) passed away on Monday 12th of Rabi Al Awal in the year 11 AH, at a time like that its entry in Medina. He was born on a Monday, received the revelation on Monday, arrived in Medina on Monday and died Monday. That is why he fasted on that day.
At the announcement of his death, believers lost their reason and stood speechless and helpless. The Prophet (pbuh) was washed by the men of his family, including Ali, Abbas, Fadl Katham Osama and Chouqrâne. Abbass and his son returned the Prophet (pbuh), and Osama Chouqrâne shed water, while Ali washed him over his clothes. Nobody touched her pure body nor seen the dead in its nakedness as is customary.

During washing, Ali said, "you feel so good smell death as you did in your lifetime." He was buried in three coats: two Souhari clothes and cloak. His bed was lifted and a grave was dug by Abu Talha. People then began to scroll to pray men entered first, followed by the women, children and slaves.
On Wednesday evening, the Prophet (pbuh) was placed in his tomb by Ali Fadl, and Qatham Choukrane. Sand covered the grave.
At his death, the Prophet (pbuh) was sixty three years and had not left a single dinar.
May Allah bless the day of his birth, the day of his death and the day of resurrection.

Peace be upon you.
