Meanings of some words and terms

Kuffar= unbelievers( plural of kafir)
Munafiqun= hypocrite
Muhajirun= Muslims who leave Mecca to Medinah
Ansar= Muslim of Madinah
Jihad= the battle against the kuffar
Wahi= the revelation of GOD to the Messenger
Sahaba= companion of the Prophet
Ummah= community
Salat= Prayer
ISLAM=submission
Muslim=one who believes in ALLAH,His Prophet, the day of Ressurection and accept the commandments of ALLAH and His Prophet as the truth.
Iman= Full, deep belief of faith
Mu'min= A believer who has complete submission to ALLAH
Imam= Prayer leader
Ihsan= Meaning''perfection'' or ''excellence''
Tawhid= Term for the oneness of GOD
Taqwa= fear, the obedience to ALLAH
Hadith= Literally ''speech'' a report of MUHAMMAD's(s) actions,it refers to an individual report of theMessenger.

The five Pillars of ISLAM

1) Shahada=Testimony(There is no GOD but ALLAH and MOHAMMED is His Messenger)
2)  Salat= Ritual Prayer( 5 times a day)
3) Sawm=Fasting
4) Zakkat= Almsgiving
5)Hajj=Pilgrimage

Now my question is: in your point of view what is objective of giving Zakkat to the poor?
